Story

For as long as I can remember, all I ever wanted was to be a mother.

My husband and I met in our twenties, married five years later, and welcomed our daughter a year after that. Two and a half years later, our son joined our family. Becoming a wife and mother was everything I had dreamed it would be, and I felt incredibly fortunate to stay home and care for my family.

But somewhere along the way, I lost sight of myself.

Like so many mothers, I poured every part of who I was into the people I loved most. I wouldn’t trade those years for anything, yet there were days when I felt lonely. I had become “Mom” in every sense of the word, but I no longer knew who Lesley was.

When we moved into our forever home, I dreamed of filling it with artwork that made me feel something—pieces that felt personal, meaningful, and alive. As a single-income family, original artwork wasn’t something we could justify buying.

So I decided to paint my own.

I had never considered myself artistic. I had never painted before. I simply bought a canvas, a few paints, and started.

After that first painting, something changed.

I became completely captivated. If I wasn’t painting, I was thinking about painting. Every new technique, every mistake, every finished piece made me want to learn more. What began as a way to decorate my home slowly became something much bigger.

It became the journey that helped me find myself.

Not the person I was before motherhood—but someone entirely new.

Painting gave me confidence. It taught me patience, courage, curiosity, and the joy of creating something that didn’t exist before. It reminded me that growth doesn’t stop once we become adults. We are always becoming.

Today, I am a self-taught artist who still wakes up excited to learn something new every single day.

Flowers became the language of my work because they mirror the way I see people. Every bloom is different. Every season has purpose. Growth isn’t always visible, but it is always happening.

Lady Studio was born from the belief that art should do more than decorate a wall. It should make you feel seen. It should remind you of your own story, your own growth, and the beauty that can emerge after seasons of feeling lost.

My artwork is for anyone who has ever questioned who they are.

For anyone who has felt alone.

For the dreamers.

For the mothers.

For those rebuilding themselves.

For those learning to bloom in their own time.

I hope that when you bring one of my paintings into your home, it becomes more than artwork. I hope it serves as a daily reminder that we are all capable of growing into someone we never imagined we could become.

There is so much beauty, kindness, and love in this world. Sometimes all we need is the courage to reach for it.

Welcome to Lady Studio.
